In the summer of 2009 I photographed Imogin Appiah, a young girl who was appealing for bone marrow donor's to help in her fight against Leukaemia. With her shaven head, big smile and cheeky attitude she made an instant impression on me. As we moved from one area of North End to another she instinctively took my hand as we walked and talked. As we walked for a few minutes she then spent her time writing her autograph several times on the reporters notebook that she had offered to carry for him. She was one of those people and it was one of those shoots that you know you will always think back to.

Sadly Imogin died last weekend at the age of just 7. Hopefully her family will be strengthened by the memories of their strong, funny and feisty child.
